The spirit of all combat sport is to Never Surrender. Sure the crowd is always awed by a crushing knockout or flashy takedown but the real respect goes to the man that rises EVERY time he falls, in sport and life. When you think about the heroes that are lauded through the ages, it is their perseverance and courage to press on in the face of adversity and overcome, that establishes their legend.
